Lezley Saar

Lezley Saar (b. 1953 Los Angeles, CA, lives and works in Los Angeles, CA) received a B.A. from California State University at Northridge. Her artwork deals with themes of identity, race, gender, beauty, normalcy, and sanity. She has exhibited nationally and internationally. Saar’s work is included in museum collections such as the Kemper Museum, Kansas City, MO; the California African American Museum, Los Angeles, CA; the Ackland Art Museum, Chapel Hill, NC; and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA.
